DIPLOMA

DIPLOMA IN HOTEL MANAGEMENT

SPM with at least five (5) credits, including English and Mathematics, Bahasa Melayu, and two (2) other subjects or an equivalent

or

SPM with at least four (4) credits, including English and a pass in Bahasa Melayu, mathematics and one (1) other subject

and

A certificate in HM002/HM003 with a CGPA of at least 2.70

and

At least one year working experience.


DIPLOMA IN TOURISM MANAGEMENT

SPM with as least five (5) credits including English, mathematics and bahasa Melayu and two (2) other subjects or an equivalent

or

SPM with at least four (4) credits, including English and a pass in Bahasa Melayu, Mathematics and one (1) other subject

and

A certificate in HM005 with a CGPA of at least 2.70

and

At least one year working experience.


DIPLOMA IN FOODSERVICE MANAGEMENT

SPM with at least four (4) credits including English, General Science or Pure Science, Bahasa Melayu, Mathematics and one (1) other subject or an equivalent

or

SPM with at least four (4) credits including English and a pass in Bahasa Melayu, Mathematics, one (1) other subject

and

Pass in Certificate in Culinary Arts or certificate in Hotel Operations with a CGPA of at least 2.70

and

At least one year working experience.


DIPLOMA IN CULINARY ARTS


SPM with at least five (5) credits including English, Mathematics and Bahasa Melayu and two (2) other subjects, or an equivalent. (Priority given to candidates with a credit in Fine Arts and/or Catering subjects)

or

SPM with at least four (4) credits including English, Bahasa Melayu, Mathematics and one (1) other subject

and

A pass in Certificate in Culinary Arts or Certificate in Hotel Operation, with a CGPA of at least 2.70

and

At least one year working experience.


DEGREE


BACHELOR OF SCIENCE (HONS.)

Diploma from the Faculty of Hotel and Tourism Management with a CGPA of at least 2.70

or

Diploma from other faculties of UiTM with a CGPA of at least 2.70

or

Recognized Diploma from other institutions

or

STPM with at least two (2) principal and two (2) subsidiary passes and a credit in SPM English

or

Matriculation Certificate with a CGPA of at least 2.30

Candidates are required to submit their MUET results with the application.

MASTER


GRADUATE PROGRAMS (MASTERS)

The faculty offers three (3) masters programmes by research and four (4) masters programmes by coursework.

Master (by research) :

To complete a master’s by Research programme, a student must submit a thesis that reflects a sound knowledge and independent thought in the research project.
The Master’s(by research) program is designed for individual who are interested in embarking on a research project which can be completed within 1-2 years duration. The faculty offers master’s by research in three areas namely;  

HM780    Master of Science in Hotel Management (by research)
HM781    Master of Science in Tourism Management (by research)
HM782    Master of Science in Foodservice Management (by research)

Entry requirements :

•    Honours degree with a CGPA of 3.33 (B+) and above or its equivalent recognized by the UiTM Senate,
•    Succeed in an interview conducted by the Faculty of Hotel and Tourism Management, and
•    Submit a research proposal in the chosen area of interest.


Masters (by coursework) :

All students are expected to pursue a structured sequence of courses in one of the following programmes.

HM770    Master in Hospitality Management
HM771    Master in Tourism Management
HM772    Master in Foodservice Management
HM775    Master in Gastronomy

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

•    Honours degree with a CGPA of 3.00 (B) and above or its equivalent
•    Succeed in an interview conducted by the Faculty of Hotel and Tourism Management


PHD


RESEARCH DEGREE - DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY (PHD-HM 990)

  • Masters in Hospitality Management of in any relevant field from UiTM or any institution of higher learning recognized by the UiTM Senate or other qualifications equivalent to a Masters degree (in a relevant field) with relevant experience in a related field recognized by the UiTM Senate,
  • CGPA of 3.00 (B) and above or its equivalent,
  • Years of experience in the field of chosen study,
  • Succeed in an interview conducted by the Faculty of Hotel and Tourism Management,
  • Submit a research proposal in the chosen area of interest.

 

(note: International students are required to a submit proof of English proficiency)
